Instructors

Kale Garrison, Baseball Pitching and Hitting Instructor, recently finished his third season in the Los Angeles Dodger Minor League Organization. Kale played for Arizona State University in 2003 and was a member of the National Junior College Championship team at Central Arizona in 2002. With over six years of pitching, hitting, and outfield instruction, he actively instructs in camps, clinics and conditioning programs around the Valley. Kale is married to Trisha and they are expecting a baby boy in January.

Jaclyn Beener, Softball Instructor, attended East High School in Des Moines, Iowa where she was a 4 time All-State player receiving Player of the Year honors in 2000. Jackie went on to attend Kirkwood Junior College in Cedar Rapids making the All-Region Midwest team. In 2004, she was the pitching coach for the Dowling Catholic High School Softball program. Jackie has had private practice of softball instruction for the last two years including Horizon High School, St. Thomas Middle School, and local club teams in the valley. She has over 15 years of competitive pitching experience and is nominated for the Iowa Softball Hall of Fame 2005. Jackie is available for pitching and hitting instruction.

Jackie Coburn, Softball Instructor, played her college career at the University of Arizona, where she helped lead the Wildcats to three Women's College World Series appearances. Coburn started all four years for the Wildcats, splitting time between catcher and third base. She finished her career 21st on the all-time NCAA Homerun List and fifth in Arizona history with 52. Coburn finished her senior year hitting .282 with 10 homeruns and 48 RBIs. Her 10 homeruns were tops on the team and her 48 RBIs were second. She hit at least 10 homeruns in each of her four years at Arizona while driving in 193 runs in her career. After being selected by the Heat in the first round of the 2005 College Draft, Coburn emerged as the primary catcher. She finished the season hitting .330 with 5 homeruns and 26 RBIs. Coburn also led the Heat in walks and sacrifice flies on her way to being named the teams Rookie of Year.

Kevin Riggs, Baseball Hitting/Infield Instructor, was a minor league prospect with the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, and the Cleveland Indians. During his minor league career, Kevin was selected to the All-Star Team four times, was among the top 10 Batting Leaders three times and was the Norwich Navigators M.V.P & Offensive Player of the Year in 1996. He also played overseas in China and was selected to the All-Star Team and named the League's M.V.P in 1998. Kevin attended East Carolina University and was named All-Conference, All-Tournament Teams in 1989 and 19990. Kevin is married to Joanna and have two boys Taylor and KJ.

Fred Speck, General Manager, brings more than twenty years of playing and coaching experience to Inside Pitch. Fred ended his playing experience in Europe after playing six seasons in the Swedish Federation League. He was a four-year starter at Biola University and ended his career as the career leader in hits. Fred has coached at the university, international, high school, and youth level and has had a private practice of baseball instruction in Arizona for the past 8 years. He specializes in hitting and middle infield instruction. Fred has a degree in Business Management and has worked in the brokerage industry for the last 7 years. Fred is married to Wendy and they have a daughter Jordan.

Bobby Hobbs, Pitching Instructor, recently finished his college career as a 4-year scholarship pitcher at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Bobby's team reached the NCAA regionals 3 out of the 4 years and competed in the championship game in 2004 and 2005. Also, in 2004 and 2005, Pepperdine took the West Coast Conference Title. Bobby was All-WCC Academic recipient in 2003 and 2004 and played in the National Baseball Congress World Series in 2002 and 2003. Bobby is married to Brandi.

Hank Arnold, Instructor, brings over 21 years of playing and coaching experience to Inside Pitch. He has taught baseball at all levels including youth through high school with the past eight years as a middle school and high school coach. Hank's sense of humor and love for the game create a unique ability to communicate and instruct players of all ages. He will provide hitting, pitching, catching and defense instruction at Inside Pitch. He also enjoys coaching summer and winter league high school teams. Hank is married to Stephanie and they have three boys, Nick, Luke, and Travis.
